What the verdicts are based on
The tool uses two different comparisons, because what counts as "correct" differs by field.
- Shoulder, chest, waist, hip and thigh are compared against your body. The tool measures how much room the garment leaves over your body (the ease) and checks whether that ease matches the fit you asked for.
- Length, sleeve, rise and inseam are compared against a garment you already own, because your body can't tell you the right answer for these — preference does.
Chest, for instance, wants 8–15 cm of ease over your body circumference for a regular fit; slim runs 4–9 cm and oversize starts around 14 cm. Shoulder works differently: a regular fit should land within about ±1.5 cm of your actual shoulder width, while an intentional drop-shoulder oversize runs +2 to +6 cm.
FAQ
How do I tell whether a chart is flat or circumference?
On Korean and many Asian charts, chest, waist, hip and thigh are measured with the garment laid flat and read across one side only, so the real circumference is roughly double. If a top's chest number sits in the mid-40s to low-60s in centimetres, it's almost certainly flat. Shoulder width, total length and inseam are listed as-is even on those charts. There's more detail in how to read online size charts.
Where are my measurements stored?
Everything you type stays in your own browser and is never sent to a server. It will still be there when you come back on the same device, and the clear button removes it.
Why are length, rise and inseam not compared to my body?
Because those are preference, not anatomy. Two people at the same height can want completely different hems — one cropped at the ankle, one covering the shoe. So the tool anchors them to a garment that already works for you.
What if I don't have a tape measure?
Build rough notes with the hand-span method first, then correct them with a real tape once before an order that matters.
